Sampal Report
Brief Introduction:
Depending on the continuous accumulation of the industry data for over 20 years, BOABC has kept track of industry changes and continually studied the industry. The report BOABC is providing you is a valuable industrial and investment analysis report.
The characteristics of China’s oils and oilseed industry of 2017:
1 Domestic oilseed supplies continued to drop; soybean import volume surpassed 90 million tons which was a new historical record.
In 2017, as the domestic oilseed supplies continued to drop, the import volume of oils and oilseeds continued to increase, especially, the import volume of soybeans had surpassed 90 million tons. In 2017, China’s vegetable oil demands didn’t increase significantly. It was estimated to be over 32 million tons. However, the demands for small variety vegetable oils increased significantly; variety structure adjustment became a new normal in the industrial development.
2 Processing overcapacity of three large oil varieties still remained; high industry concentration was found and competition was getting more intense.
A long-term overcapacity remained in the soybean oil, rapeseed oil and palm oil processing. Rapeseed oil processing capacity transferred to South China coastal areas. Enterprises wanted to boost their competitiveness so as to be free from elimination. Therefore, new investments were mainly enterprises’ expansions- self-preservation behaviors. New entrants were few. In order to adapt to the changes of the development layout in the livestock industry, soybean crushing industry would increase the investment layout in the North East and the Western soybean meal sales areas.
3 Large sums of social capitals entered the small variety vegetable oil industry; camellia oil industry became the key investment field.
Due to overcapacity, small profits and more intense competitiveness of large bulk vegetable oils, the investment priority of the vegetable oil industry turned to small variety vegetable oils. In recent years, the investment in camellia oil became a hot spot.
On account of this, the characteristics of the development trend and investment direction of China’s vegetable oil processing industry would be the following:
a. The industry concentration ratio and scale degree of large bulk vegetable oils would continue to increase;
b. The integration speed of soybean and rapeseed crushing industry accelerated. Enterprises would pay more attention to the completion of the whole industry chain in the competition, especially logistics construction;
c. Small variety vegetable oils became a key investment field. Whole industry chain (from raw materials to terminal brand construction) investment would be more emphasized in new projects;
d. Enterprises paid more attention to the key factors such as brand construction and marketing;
This report will deeply analyze the development of China’s vegetable oil industry of 2017. We’ll analyze key enterprises’ operation modes and conclude enterprises and capital investment trends so as to assist enterprises, capital and industry participants to grasp international and domestic industry trends and industry investment opportunities more accurately so as to find suitable modes for the enterprise's own development and the resources that needs to be integrated urgently.
