MOA of China Issued Development of Vegetable Basket Projects in 2012

In its recently issued Guideline for the Development of Vegetable Basket Projects in 2012, the Ministry of Agriculture proposes to support standardized livestock farms: hog farms each capable of a hog production of 5,000 ~ 50,000 heads, egg farms each with a inventory of 10,000 ~ 100,000 layers, broiler farms each capable of a broiler production of 50,000 ~ 1 million birds, beef cattle farms each capable of a cattle production of 100 ~ 2,000 heads and sheep farms each capable of a sheep production of 300 ~ 3,000 heads.
