Wheaten and Rice Food Production in June

Instant noodles production registered 729,000 MT in China in June, 8.6% more than the month before and 8.6% more than the same period of last year. The promulgated figures showed an instant noodles production decrease of 4.2% in June but an increase of 8.3% in January ~ June, both on the year-on-year basis.

Fast-frozen wheaten and rice food production was 339,000 MT in June, 30.19% more than the month before and 31.4% more than the same period of last year. Fast-frozen wheaten and rice food production totaled 1.761 million MT in January ~ June, an increase of 18.19% on the year-on-year basis. The promulgated figures showed a production increase of 39.5% in June and 16.6% in January ~ June, both on the year-on-year basis.

Biscuit and cake productions were estimated to be 500,000 MT and 136,000 MT respectively in June.

Total wheaten and rice food production was 1.71 million MT in June and 9.333 million MT in January ~ June, up 3.41% and 6.31% respectively on the year-on-year basis.

1.082 million MT flour was consumed for wheaten food production in June, 1.55% more than the month before but 1.08% less than the same period of last year. 5.948 million MT flour was consumed for wheaten food production in January ~ June, a growth of 4.07% on the year-on-year basis.

Flour consumption for wheaten food production accounted for 9.8% of medium and large flourmills’ production in June and 10.13% in January ~ June.

127,000 MT rice was consumed for rice food production in June and 687,600 MT in January ~ June, up 13.72% and 14.1% on the year-on-year basis.
