Output Prediction of Fruit and Vegetable

High price of fruit and vegetable of 2010-2011 stimulated farmers' enthusiasm, and in 2011-2012 both plant area and output may keep increasing.

The total area of orchard in 2010 was 11.54 million hectares, up by 3.6% year on year. The output reached 129 million tons, up by 5.1% year on year. It is expected that the total area of orchard in 2011 will be 11.93 million hectares, up by 3.4% year on year. The output reached 138 million tons, up by 6.9% year on year. The total area of orchard in 2012 is expected to be 12.29 million hectares, up by 3.0% year on year. The output will reach 144 million tons, up by 5.1% year on year.

The total growing area of vegetables in 2010 was 19.0 million hectares, up by 3.3% year on year. The output reached 651 million tons, up by 5.3% year on year. It is expected that the total growing area of vegetables in 2011 will be 19.59 million hectares, up by 3.1% year on year. The output will reach 677 million tons, up by 4.0% year on year. It is expected that the total growing area of vegetables in 2012 will be 19.98 million hectares, up by 2.0% year on year. The output will be 697 million tons, up by 3.0% year on year.
