China imported 48,693 dairy cattle in the first half of 2012

In the first half of 2012 China imported 48,693 dairy cattle, up 31.85% year on year; the average import price was 2836 US dollars/head, up 14.99% year on year, of which the import was 5387 in June at the average price of 2768 US dollars/head. The price for dairy cattle was affected during the first half of 2012 owing to the drop of economic growth around the globe and the insufficient demand for dairy products in the world. The import price for dairy cattle to China continued to slide during the half year.
