Estimates of Grain Consumption in August

Grain consumption was estimated to be 48.152 million MT in August, a drop of 0.2% on the year-on-year basis. Of the total, 48.135 million MT were domestic consumption.

5.77 million MT grains were consumed for industrial uses in August, 1.75% less than the month before but 0.51% more than the same period of last year. 492.56 million MT grains were consumed for industrial uses during January ~ August, 0.62% more than the same period of last year.

16.352 million MT grains were consumed in August and 151 million MT in January ~ August for feed production, up 1.28% and 3.23% respectively on the year-on-year basis. Deducting 39.034 million MT by-products of processed grains, 112 million MT grains were consumed for feed production in January ~ August.
