News Briefs on Livestock and Feed Market this week

1. The Ministry of Agriculture issued a notice on November 23 on the monitoring and prevention of African swine fever.

2. Forty-three heads of hogs were confirmed of being killed by Type O FMD in Puwan District, Dalian, on November 19.

3. Guangzhou City, Guangdong, plans to reduce slaughterhouses from 55 to 23 in four years.

4. New Hope Group is competing with US Blackstone Group for the ownership of the largest slaughterhouse in Australia. The deal may involve $1.5 billion capital.

5. Dabeinong Group has recently put into operation in Urumuqi City, Xinjiang, a feed production line capable of 120,000 MT a year.

6. CP Group has recently put into operation in Luoyang City, Henan, a RMB1 billion hog slaughterhouse capable of 1.5 million heads a year.

7. Sanbao Livestock Farm, located in Sanshui City, Guangdong, has recently introduced 905 heads of breeding-pigs from the USA.

8. Jiangxi Zhengbang Group has recently signed an agreement with Ji’an City, Jiangxi, planning to invest RMB5 billion in the City in 2012 ~ 2016 to set up a hog production base capable of 2 million heads/year, a feed mill capable of 1 million MT/year and a slaughterhouse capable of 2 million heads/year.
