Feed Production & Corn Consumption in November

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2012-12-18 11:05:44China Agriculture Report Print Feed production by medium and large mills registered 19.878 million MT in November, 1.5% less than the month before but 5.77% more than the same period of last year. Feed production by such mills totaled 197.3 million MT in January ~ November, an increase of 14.93% on the year-on-year basis.
 
The promulgated figures showed a feed production increase of 8.7% in November and 17.4% in January ~ November, both on the year-on-year basis.
 
Feed production consisted of 17.858 million MT compound feed, 1.49 million MT condensed feed and 530,000 MT premixed feed in November. Of the total feed production in January ~ November, 178 million MT were compound feed, 14.546 million MT condensed feed and 4.641 million MT premixed feed.
 
10.536 million MT corn was estimated to be consumed by medium and large feed mills and 11.07 million MT by mills of various scales in November. Compound feed mills ran at 64.44% of their capacity in November. The feed industry consumed about 108.6 million MT corn in January ~ November.
 
In terms of other feed ingredient supply, grain by-product production was 14.185 million MT in November, including 8.304 million MT oilseed meal, 2.546 million MT bran and wheat middling, 1.9 million MT rice husk and broken rice, 1.39 million MT corn bran and protein powder and 40,000 MT beer dregs.
 
Grain by-product production was estimated to be 131 million MT in January ~ November, including 75.478 million MT oilseed meal, 24.218 million MT bran and wheat middling, 16.315 million MT rice husk and broken rice, 15.068 million MT corn bran and protein powder and 579,000 MT beer dregs.
 
Corn consumption for various uses was estimated to be 16.752 million MT in November. Corn inventory was 177 million MT at the end of November, suggesting a stock/consumption ratio of 10.54.
 
Corn price was RMB2,441/MT in November, up 1.01% on the year-on-year basis. As the protective procurement price is below the market price, corn price is predicted to drop 3% to RMB2,318/MT in 2012/2013, compared with the previous year.
