Larger Soybean Acreage Expected in Heilongjiang

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2013-06-05 11:16:54China Agriculture Report Print As corn planting was hindered by low temperature and excessive moisture in the Northeast this spring, some farmers had to switch to soybeans. It is predicted that soybean acreage may reach 2.80 million hectares in Heilongjiang this year, 7% more than last year.
 
Corn planting generated a gross profit of RMB4,800/hectare in Heilongjiang in 2012 but soybean planting merely generated a gross profit of RMB1,500/hectare. Actually, farmers are not so keen on soybean production.
