Nestle Paced up Expansion in China

Nestle is pacing up expansion of production capacity in China so as to meet this most important market. After 13 months of construction, the coffee plant with investment of 880 million yuan was inaugurated for establishment on July 10th. On the following day, the production center with investment of 2.1 billion yuan from Yinlu, its sub company, inaugurated operation.
 
The annual production capacity of the new coffee plant is 120,000 tons, it is in Laixi, Qingdao. There are coffee extraction and spray drying lines, and there is space for further expansion and production of finished products in the future. The production center with land occupation of 1100 mu is located at Chuzhou, Anhui and its production capacity is 900,000 tons of peanut, rice, barley, red beans, mung beans and etc.
 
Nestle CEO Paul Bulcke was present at both inaugurations and he stated China is the second largest market of the company and that is why the company keeps on adding investment in China. In 2012 the sales contribution from the big China region to Nestle was 5 billion Swiss Francs (equal to 32.513 billion yuan), accounting for nearly 5%.
