China Ancestral Breeding Broiler Enterprise to Control Introduction
By CnAgri2014-01-13 09:40:23 PrintChina introduction of white feather broiler chick kept increasing, especially soaring in recent three years, resulting serious surplus capacity. On Dec. 26th 2013, Livestock Department of MOA, China Livestock Association and 16 ancestral breeding broiler enterprises held consultative meeting on “Plan of Controlling White Feather Broiler Chick ” and the majorities reached a consensus.
BOABC Insight: though China poultry industry suffered many unfavorable factors, the introduction of breeding chickens still kept at high level in 2013 and is likely to record new high. This joint control of introduction has positive influences on industry development. However, it should be noted that the quota is set by negotiation without mandatory requirements. Since every company has its market position and strategy, if any problem is occurred, it is hard to require every company to comply with the quota. Besides, about 1.1 million sets quota is still large, which has no help to relive surplus supply condition in China. Therefore, in BOABC’S opinion, though the quota has positive impacts on industry development, the final effect is still undecided.
