Overall Quality of New Season Rapeseed of 2018 Is Better than That of Last Year, Jiangxi and Sichuan Are Outstanding

The average oil content of the new season rapeseed was 38.3%. The ratio of the medium (3^rd grade) and above was 56.7%, 1.6% higher than that of last year; the total content of the incomplete grains was about the same as last year; the average value of the unripe grains was 0.2%, down 0.6% compared with last year; the average value of the moldy kernels and sprouted kernels was 0.8% and 0.7% respectively, up by 0.1% and 0.5% respectively year on year. According to the fatty acid content, the average erucic acid content was 15.7% and the proportion of erucic acid content not exceeding 3% (low erucic acid) was 29%, which increased by 0.2% points year on year.
 
In the case of the provinces, the highest oil content was found in Jiangxi and Sichuan, which had reached 39.5% and 39% respectively. The proportions of two provinces’ rapeseed above medium were also found the highest, reaching 73.3% and 67.5% respectively.
