Initial registration of paraquat 50% SG approved in China

Chinese agrochemical firm Shandong Luba has obtained temporary registration for 50% paraquat soluble granules initially for a term of 12 months from the Chinese Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals of Ministry of Agriculture (ICAMA).

According to Announcement No.1745 joint issued by Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Information and the State General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in April this year, China has to adopt restrictive measures on paraquat product: from July 11st 2014, paraquat aqueous solution registration and production permit shall be cancelled while technical concentration aqueous solution registration is maintained only for export purpose. Sales and use of aqueous solution product in China shall be terminated from July 1st 2016.

With the Announcement in place, Shandong Luba has been dedicating to develop new formulation of paraquat and finally made breakthrough progress on soluble granules recently. As one of the alternative formulations, paraquat SG showed the features of high paraquat content, easy storage and transportation, good stability, low possibility of poisoning, safety and more environmental-friendly.
