According to the data from the State Statistical Bureau, the output of N-fertilizer, P-fertilizer and K-fertilizer for agriculture from January to May 2019 was 24.196 million MT, up 2.4% year on year. Based on the data on output of companies in different regions monitored by BOABC, from January to May 2019, the output of urea, MAP and DAP all increased year on year, and the output of K-fertilizer descended slightly.

Urea: from January to May 2019, urea output (product) was 21.1447 million MT, up 2.33% year on year. Of which, the output in north China, east China, northwest, central China, southwest, northeast and south China was 727,500 MT, 474,100 MT, 295,200 MT, 294,000 MT, 205,600 MT, 65,300 MT and 52,800 MT, with a year-on-year increase of 8.09% -2.79% -8.57% 3.98% 25.07% -8.64% and -17.53% respectively.

MAP and DAP: according to monitored data on 28 MAP companies and 29 DAP companies from BOABC, the output of MAP and DAP of these companies reached 9.5 million MT in 2018, accounting for more 56% of P-fertilizer output for that year. During January and May 2019, MAP output of 28 MAP producers was 2.84 million MT, the same as 2018; DAP output of 29 DAP producers reached 6.59 million MT, up 2.30% year on year.

K-fertilizer: the capacity of 9 MOP producers monitored by BOABC was 8.435 million MT in 2019, taking up 55% in the total K-fertilizer capacity. During January and May 2019, MOP output of these 9 producers was 2.235 million MT, down 1.76% year on year.

Taken together, during January to May 2019, fertilizer output in the domestic stabilized. But due to limited production profits, the producers possibly would limit production for supporting the prices, besides, along with the continuing of high MOP stocks in the domestic and policy requirements on a negative growth in use of fertilizer, it was predicted that the output of fertilizer for agriculture in 2019 would keep stable with some slight declines, and won’t exceed 55 million MT (nutrient).
