Sulfur Import and Phosphorite Export in May in China

Sulfur imports registered 1.198 million MT in May and 5.315 million MT in January ~ May, up 48.2% and 34.6% respectively on the year-on-year basis. Sulfur import price moved up to $206/MT (CIF) in May. Imports from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Canada, Qatar and Kazakhstan accounted for 18.9%, 12.6%, 11.1%, 10.4% and 10.2% of the total respectively.
Phosphorite exports were 39,000 MT in May and 180,000 MT in January ~ May, down 45.3% and 43.7% respectively on the year-on-year basis. Phosphorite export price was $193/MT (FOB), up 25.1% on the year-on-year basis.
