Meat Production from January to June in China

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, China’s fresh and frozen meat production by medium and large slaughterhouses registered 2.836 million MT in June and 14.177 million MT in January ~ June, up 22.7% and 21.3% respectively on the year-on-year basis. The substantial production increase resulted in a meat price decline in the first half of this year.
Shandong, Henan, Sichuan, Jilin and Liaoning ranked top five in meat production, jointly contributing to 66% of the nation’s total.
