Rice Production & Paddy Consumption in November

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2012-12-17 10:39:28China Agriculture Report Print Rice production by medium and large mills (each with an annual sales of over RMB20 million) registered 11.138 million MT in November, 13.8% more than the month before and 29.56% more than the same period of last year. Rice production by such mills totaled 96.379 million MT in January ~ November, an increase of 21.97% on the year-on-year basis.
 
The promulgated figures showed a rice production increase of 29.9% in November and 21.4% in January ~ November, both on the year-on-year basis.
 
At a rice ratio of 68%, medium and large mills consumed about 16.746 million MT paddy in November and 152.824 million MT in January ~ November.
 
BOABC estimates that rice production and paddy consumption by mills of various scales might be 12.94 million MT and 19.029 million MT respectively in November.
 
Small mills ran at 14.4% of their capacity and medium and large mills 59.6% in November.
 
Paddy consumption for various uses was estimated to be 20.913 million MT in November. Paddy inventory was 197.1 million MT at the end of November, above the same period of last year. Paddy consumption index was 9.4 in November, slightly below the same period of last year.
 
Rice price averaged RMB2,735/MT in November and RMB2,751/MT in July ~ November, up 5.64% and 8.04% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
