Fertilizer Production Down Over 10% in Nov. 2013

China Fertilizer production (nutrient, hereinafter the same) was 5.23 million MT in Nov., up 0.9% on year-on-year basis but down 11.7% from last month. Fertilizer production accumulated to 66.738 million MT in Jan.-Nov., up 7.1% on year on year basis.

Nitrogen fertilizer production accumulated to 46.121 million MT in Jan.-Nov., up 6.5% on year-on-year basis and was 3.612 million MT in Nov., down 0.6% YOY and down 10.73% MOM, of which, urea production was 2.394 million MT, down 2.6% YOY and down 10.1% MOM.

Phosphate fertilizer production accumulated to 16.346 million MT in Jan.-Nov., up 6.2% on year-on-year basis and was1.29 million MT in Nov., down 2.2% YOY and down 12.1% MOM, of which, DAP and MAP production(fertilizer) was 1.35 million MT and1.168 million MT, up 16.1% and 10.7% YOY and down 9.8% and 9% MOM respectively.
Potassium fertilizer production accumulated to 4.268 million MT in Jan.-Nov., up 17.9% on year-on-year basis and was0.325 million MT in Nov., up 43.9% YOY and down 19.5% MOM.
Of the three fertilizer varieties, nitrogen fertilizer saw negative growth, phosphorous fertilizer saw limited growth and potash’s growth rate was great to 43.9% YOY.  Compared with last month, potash production declined mainly caused by operating rate decline of domestic potash. It is understood domestic manufacturers would stop producing in Dec., so potash production shall decline further more MOM.
