China Virgin Olive Oil Import in Oct. 2013

International Olive Oil Council divides olive oil into Virgin Olive Oil and Refined Olive Oil two categories and five levels.

Virgin Olive Oil, also called as Natural Olive Oil, is extracted directly from fresh olives by mechanical cold pressing and filtering.

In 2011, China Virgin Olive Oil imports totaled 30321 MT, up 61.51% from 2010 with average price of USD4.3/kg, up 5.14% on year-on-year basis. In 2012, China Virgin Olive Oil imports totaled 39259 MT, up 29.48% from 2011 with average price of USD3.9/kg, down9.93% on year-on-year basis.

In Jan.-Oct. 2013, China Virgin Olive Oil imports totaled 29031 MT, down 7.15% from 2012 with average price of USD4.9/kg, up 27.97% on year-on-year basis.
