Fertilizer Raw Material Production in Jan. ~ Dec. 2013

The production of synthetic ammonium and phosphorite registered 55.96 million MT and 94.36 million MT respectively in China in Jan. ~ Dec, up 3.5% and 14% on the year-on-year basis and registered 4.53million MT and 9.55 million MT respectively in China in Dec., up 1.4% and 25.2% respectively on the year-on-year basis and down 0.7% and 1% respectively MOM.

   The production of sulfuric acid registered 79.31 million MT and 6.91 million MT in Jan.-Dec. 2013 and Dec. Respectively, up 5.7% and 2.1% respectively on year-on-year basis. In 2013, sulfuric production declined and the high growth rate era was over. Sulfuric acid is mainly used for phosphatic compound fertilizer production. But the gloomy phosphatic compound fertilize market in 2013 caused less demand for sulfuric acid.

   Production of pyrite registered 16.35 million MT in Jan.-Dec. and 1.22 million MT in Dec., up 4.2% and 16.9% respectively on year-on-year basis. 

   Production of sulfur registered 5.22 million MT in Jan.-Dec. and 0.447 million MT in Dec., up 12.1% and 7.5% respectively on year-on-year basis. According to relevant data, domestic sulfur price kept strong after Spring Festival. Sulfuric acid made of sulfur accounts for 50% and 70% sulfuric acid is used for fertilizer production. As fertilizer export tariff policy is adjusted in 2014, fertilizer manufacturers are positive in producing, which will increase demand for sulfur.
