China Wheaten Food & Rice Food Production and Flour and Rice Consumption in 2013

　　Production of various wheaten products totaled 27.1 million MT in 2013, up 14.14% compared with 2012, including 2.52 million MT fine dried noodles, 11.17 million MT instant noodles, 6.87 million MT biscuits, 1.84 million MT cakes and 4.7 million MT fast frozen rice and wheaten food, up 5.23%, 18.04%, 15.00%, 15.00%, 2.18% and 14.33% respectively year on year.
　　
　　As for flour consumption for wheaten food, it registered 17.658 million MT, accounting for 22.59% of total flour production in 2013. As a key part for flour consumption, the food industry consumption of flour should be highlighted by flour processing enterprises.
　　
　　Per capita consumption of wheaten products was 19.9 Kg in 2013, specifically, per capita consumption of fine dried noodles, instant noodles, biscuits, cakes and fast frozen wheaten and rice food was 1.85Kg, 8.21Kg, 5.05Kg, 1.35Kg and 3.45Kg. Consumption of instant noodles and biscuits has reached high. If the statistics is close to actual consumption, production of instant noodles and biscuits has been surplus. Enterprises should adjust structure to well meet consumers’ demand.
　　
　　Per capita flour consumption for wheaten food registered 12.98Kg, accounting for 23.81% of total per capita flour consumption. Increased of per capita flour consumption for wheaten food was the major force prompting increase of flour consumption.
　　
　　Regarding rice consumption for rice food production, it kept rapid growth to 2.426 million MT in 2013, up 12.33% year on year. Slowed growth of cakes consumption dragged down increase of rice consumption for rice food production.
