China Soybean Imports 7.4 million MT in Dec. 2013
By CnAgri2014-01-16 09:16:13 PrintChina imported soybean 7.4 million MT in Dec. 2013, up 22.7% from Nov. and 25.6% from the same period of 2012. The imports of soybean totaled 63.41 million MT in Jan.-Dec. 2013, up 8.6% from 2012.
In Dec. 2013, soybean import cost averaged USD570/MT, down USD9/MT compared with Nov.
Great crushing profit stimulates demand for soybean and soybean imports in China. About 20 crushing plants are under construction or planed to be built, most of which will be put into operation in 2014 or 2015, by when, soybean crushing capacity will expand further more and soybean imports will increase as well, but the growth rate
has slowed down greatly.
