Compound Feed Prices Dropped,Costs Went up, and Margins Shrank Slightly

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2018-08-01 16:48:56China Agriculture Report Print The prices of compound feed for fattening pigs and broilers averaged at RMB 2,910/MT and RMB 3,050/MT, both stable from last week. The prices of compound feed for layers dropped RMB 10/MT to RMB 2,740/MT.
 
Corn and soybean meal prices rebounded slightly this week. Feed costs for growing-finishing pigs, broilers and layers increased to RMB 2,760/MT, 2,871/MT and 2,538/MT respectively, up RMB 4/MT, 5/MT and 4/MT from last week.
 
The gross margins of compound feeds for growing-finishing pig, broiler and layer were respectively RMB 150/MT, 180/MT and 192/MT, down RMB 4/MT, 4/MT and 14/MT from last week, and gross margin rates were 5.1%, 5.9% and 7.0%, down 0.1, 0.2 and 0.5 percentage points from last week.
