Prices of main grain by varieties
By CnAgri2018-11-22 14:31:50 Print 1) Wheat price: in October, the wholesale price of wheat was 2443yuan/ton, decreasing by 1.58% from the year before, increasing by 0.71% month-on-month. It has grown for four successive months. Excluding the impact of monetary factors, the real wholesale price rose by 0.64% month-on-month, and decreased by 4.00% year-on-year. The drop was enlarging.From January to October, 2018, the average price of wheat was 2451yuan/ton, down 0.81% year-on-year; and the real average price excluding the impact of monetary factors fell by 1.72%. During the period from May to October, 2018, wheat price averaged 2419yuan/ton, a year-on-year drop of 1.43%; and the real average price excluding the impact of monetary factors fell by 1.38% year-on-year.
Flour price: in October, factory price of flour averaged 3068yuan/ton, a month-on-month growth of 0.20% and a year-on-year drop of 3.51%; deducting the impact of monetary factors, the real price rose by 0.14% month-on-month, and declined by 5.93% year-on-year. From January to October, flour price averaged 3114yuan/ton, a year-on-year decrease of 1.70%; the real price excluding the impact of monetary factors dropped by 2.60% year-on-year.
In October, the gap between factory price and wholesale price of flour was 271yuan/ton, which was of 8.83% of the factory price, seeing growth from the previous month, at a relatively high level in record. From January to October, 2018, the price difference of flour between main producing areas and sales regions averaged 252yuan/ton, increasing by 23.44% from the same period last year, and the ratio between the price difference and factory price hit a record high of 8.11%. It indicates that the circulation cost of flour from factories to markets is rising.
2) Prices of paddy and rice: in October, the wholesale price of paddy in the mainland of China was 2510yuan/ton, a month-on-month decrease of 2.19% and a year-on-year drop of 9.83%. Domestic paddy price saw the most significant decrease since 2009. Deducting the impact of monetary factors, the monthly real price of paddy fell by 2.26% from the previous month and by 12.24% year-on-year.
From July to October, 2018, paddy price averaged 2600yuan/ton, down 6.93% year-on-year; excluding the influence of monetary factors, the real price fell by 7.82% year-on-year. So far, paddy price has seen the most significant decrease in this year. It’s lower than the level in 2011/12, and fell by 9.60% from the highest level in record.
From January to October, the average price of paddy was 2670yuan/ton, a year-on-year decrease of 4.18%; and the real price excluding the impact of monetary factors fell by 5.08% year-on-year. The decrease in real price will inevitably bring about the reduction in paddy production in 2018, which should be paid high attention to by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
