China's PMI Was 51.1 Percent in September

In view of the sizes of enterprises, the PMI of large-sized enterprises was 52.1 percent, up by 0.3 percentage point month-on-month, positioned above the threshold; that of medium-sized enterprises was 49.7 percent, slightly increased 0.1 percentage point month-on-month, positioned below the threshold; that of small-sized enterprises was 48.8 percent, down by 0.4 percentage point month-on-month, continued to position below the threshold.
In September, among the five sub-indices composing PMI, four sub-indices increased, while that of the other one sub-index decreased.
Production index was 52.9 percent, slightly increased 0.3 percentage point month-on-month, having risen for 3 consecutive months.
New orders index was 52.8 percent, increased 0.4 percentage point month-on-month. In addition, the survey results showed that new export orders index which reflects the situation of foreign trade of manufacturing was 50.7 percent, increased 0.5 percentage point month-on-month; the import index was 50.4 percent, increased 0.4 percentage point month-on-month, having risen for 3 consecutive months.
Main raw materials inventory index was 48.5 percent, increased 0.5 percentage point over last month, and stayed below the threshold.
Employed person index was 49.1 percent, decreased 0.2 percentage point month-on-month.
Supplier delivery time index was 50.8 percent, 0.4 percentage point higher than that in last month.
Open orders index was 46.2 percent, increased 1.4 percentage points over last month, and stayed below the threshold.
Finished goods inventory index was 47.4 percent, decreased 0.2 percentage point over last month, and stayed below the threshold.
Purchase quantity index was 52.5 percent, 0.5 percentage point higher than that in last month, and continued to stay above the threshold.
Main raw material purchase price index was 54.5 percent, an increase of 1.3 percentage points month-on-month, and stayed above the threshold for three consecutive months.
Production and business activities expectation index dropped 1.0 percent over last month, which was 58.4 percent, still positioned in the high level of the range
