Poultry outbreaks of highly pathogenic H5N6 subtype avian influenza have been confirmed in Tengchong city and Luquan county of Yunnan

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2018-11-29 15:12:47China Agriculture Report Print On November 20, 2018, an outbreak of highly pathogenic H5N6 subtype avian influenza was confirmed by the National Avian Influenza Reference Laboratory in a farm in Tengchong city of Baoshan city in Yunnan province. Among 5050 birds of the farm, 4800 birds were confirmed affected and 4420 birds died. In addition, a case of highly pathogenic H5N6 subtype avian influenza was detected in a poultry farm in Luquan county, Kun ming city, Yunnan. The affected farm has 8980 birds, of which, 6540 birds were confirmed affected and 5400 birds died. After the outbreak of the disease, 10280 birds have been killed and disposed harmlessly.
