Pesticide Raw Material Price Continued With Weak Performance in China

Pesticide material market continued weak performance in May, inorganic materials consolidate low while organic materials fell massively.

Yellow phosphorous was steady, although the operation rate improves in May, its price remained at 17,300 to 17,500 Yuan per ton, and sales did not improve dramatically. With the coming of raining season later on, power and water shortage would improve fundamentally, so yellow phosphorous production are expected to go on increasing, although demand from the low reach remained weak. As a result of the imbalance, yellow phosphorous would continue to fall. Liquid chlorine and sulfur are also hovering in a low position, which lessens production cost of pesticide somehow.

As a result of weak international commodity market and European Debt Crisis, especially the former, methanol and benzene derivatives price all fell lightly. Methanol price was 2,611 Yuan per ton, down 1.2% over April, pure benzene was 8,400 Yuan per ton, down 1.5% over April. While toluene and xylene are 8,870 Yuan and 9,010 Yuan, down by 3.4% and 1.5%.

It is right the booming season for pesticide sales, and pesticide price would saw a massive increase. The decline of material cost, although very limited, would be positive for the profit of pesticide enterprises.
