Pesticide Investment in 1st Quarter in China

In 1st Quarter of 2012, pesticide investment went up fast, however the amount of investment project remained unchanged, reflecting higher investment amount per unit. Besides, the proportion of bio-pesticide also saw a further increase.

In the first 3 months of 2012, industry investment hit 5.58b Yuan, up 37.8%, accounting for 14% of total planned investment, almost the same as last year. This includes 2.46b Yuan in bio-pesticide industry, up 63.2%, which accounts for 44.0% of total investment, up 6.9% over last year. While it was 3.12b Yuan in chemical pesticide industry, up 22.7%, and its proportion went down to 56.0%.

So far as the end of March, there were 213 projects under construction, up by 0.9%, including 72 newly started projects, down by 2, and 36 finished construction, almost unchanged over last year.
