Pesticide Output Continued To Polarize in China

Chinese pesticide output hit 1.183m tons in the first 4 months of 2012, up 21.1%, including 325,000 tons in April, up 15.2% over last year and 5.9% over last month. There is obvious polarization in pesticide output.
In April, herbicide output was 139,000 tons, up 27.5%, almost the same over last month. Insecticide and fungicide output was 79,000 tons and 14,000 tons, up by 1.3% and -6.7% respectively. In the first 4 months, insecticide, fungicide and herbicide output was 261,000 tons, 46,000 tons and 499,000 tons, accounting for 22.1%, 3.9% and 42.2% respectively, with herbicide up by 5.5%.
Besides, output of growth regulator, bio-pesticide added up to 377,000 tons, accounting for 31.9% of total, up 2.6% over last year.
