Beef and Mutton Imports from January to June in China

According to the customs, China imported 123.73 MT fresh-preserved beef in January ~ June, a decrease of 33.42% on the year-on-year basis. 99.77% of the imports came from Australia.

Frozen beef imports registered 9,930 MT in January ~ June, a growth of 21.87% on the year-on-year basis. The bulk came from Uruguay, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil and Canada. The extensively sold US beef and Japanese beef in the market are suspected to be smuggled products. It is learned that beef smuggling is rather rampant.

Fresh and frozen mutton imports totaled 58,335.7 MT in January ~ June, a sharp increase of 33.43% on the year-on-year basis. The bulk of the imports came from New Zealand, Australia and Uruguay.
