Analysis Of Pesticide Export and Import in July in China

Chinese crude pesticide import was 3,869 tons in July, down 3.3% over last year and down 24.4% over last month, the lowest monthly import in 2012. In the first 7 months of 2012, total pesticide import hit 42,390 tons, up 20.4% over last year, including wholesaled fungicide 14,699 tons, retailed herbicide 10,369 tons and wholesaled herbicide 4,644 tons respectively, three varieties above accounted for 70.1% of total import.

In July, Chinese crude pesticide export hit 71,815 tons, down 3.6% over last year and down 11.0% over last month. In the first 7 months of 2012, total pesticide export hit 541,962 tons, up 8.5% over last year. The proportion of herbicide (both retailed and wholesaled) hit 67.7%, up 3.6% over last year. On the other hand, the proportion of retailed pesticide was 36.0%, up 7.2% over last year.

In July, FOB price of wholesaled insecticide, fungicide and herbicide was 4,381 dollars, 4,341 dollars and 2,502 dollars, up 5.1%, -8.9% and 3.2% respectively over last year. However, all varieties saw an increase when compared with last month.
