Pesticide output hit 2.103m tons in the first 7 months of 2012 in China

Chinese pesticide output hit 2.103m tons in the first 7 months of 2012, up 21.4%, including 292,000 tons in July, up 26.4% over last year and down 12.4% over last month. This is the first time that all 3 major varieties saw an increase.

In July, herbicide output was 140,000 tons, up 45.8% over last year and up 3.7% over last month. Insecticide and fungicide output was 70,000 tons and 10,000 tons, up by 2.9% and 11.1% over same time last year. In the first 7 months, insecticide, fungicide and herbicide output was 472,000 tons, 82,000 tons and 926,000 tons, up by -5.0%, -5.9% and 40.5%, which accounted for 22.4%, 3.9% and 44.0% of total output respectively, with herbicide up by 6.0%.

Besides, output of growth regulator, bio-pesticide added up to 623,000 tons, accounting for 29.6% of total, up 1.4% over last year.
