China Grain Production In 2012

By CnAgri2012-12-07 10:51:59 Print According to the result of nationwide sampling survey of agricultural production households and comprehensive statistics of agricultural holdings conducted by NBS in 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) of China, the total grain sown area, yield per unit area, and total grain output are as follows:
 
I. The total grain sown area stood at 111,267 thousand hectares, an increase of 694 thousand hectares year-on-year, up by 0.6 percent.
 
II. The grain yield per unit area amounted to 5,299 kg/ha, an increase of 133 kg/ha year-on-year, promoted 2.6 percent.
 
III. The total grain output accounted for 589.57 million tons (589.57 billion kg), went up by 18.36 million tons year-on-year (18.36 billion kg), an increase of 3.2 percent.
