Grain Imports & Exports in October

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2012-12-07 11:10:00China Agriculture Report Print According to the customs, grain imports and exports registered 1.104 million MT and 14,037 MT respectively in October, down 98.24% and 61.43% respectively from the month before, up 98.24% but down 83.02% respectively on the year-on-year basis. Grain imports consisted of 350,700 MT wheat, 107,900 MT rice, 445,300 MT corn and 200,700 MT barley. Grain exports consisted of 10,423 MT rice and 3,613 MT corn.
 
Processed grain product imports and exports registered 30,026 MT and 46,870 MT respectively in October, up 9.33% but down 3.08% respectively against the month before, up 35.41% and 30.02% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
 
Processed grain product imports consisted of 28,874 MT denatured starch, 1,075 MT flour and 75 MT starch in October, equal to 46,194 MT raw grains. Processed grain product exports consisted of 28,637 MT flour, 7,319 MT starch and 10,915 MT denatured starch, equal to 721,100 MT raw grains.
 
In terms of raw grains, grain imports and exports registered 1.15 million MT and 88,000 MT respectively in October, up 95% but down 38% respectively on the year-on-year basis. Similarly, grain imports and exports were 12.711 million MT and 977,000 MT respectively in January ~ October, up 199% but down 24% respectively on the year-on-year basis. Grain exports were subdued by high price in the domestic market.
