Government Attaches Great Importance to Agricultural Production in 2013

The meeting proposes that integrative agricultural productive capacity should be developed, farmland should be strictly protected, irrigation works should be improved with great efforts, technical service should be intensified and farming mechanization should be upgraded constantly. Favorable policies should be stabilized and improved to give incentives to farmers. Innovation should be made in agricultural operational system to develop integrative, specialized and organized agriculture. Pollution should be strictly controlled to ensure farm product safety.
 
    Efforts should be made to ensure a grain production of more than 525 billion kilograms in 2013 and farmers’ income should be increased more than 7.5%. Livestock epidemic disease prevention and treatment should be improved. Farm product market construction and agricultural information network should be pushed forward steadily. Agricultural resource utilization and ecological protection should be further improved.
 
    RMB815.3 billion investment was injected into agriculture in January ~ November, 2012, an increase of 30% on the year-on-year basis. It is expected that agricultural investment may exceed RMB1.1 trillion in 2003.
