Shandong Became the Largest Pesticide Province

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2013-09-09 14:15:51China Agriculture Report Print In July, total output of 337 major pesticide enterprises hit 273,000 tons, down 0.6%. Fungicide, insecticide and herbicide were 13,100 tons, 147,000 tons and 68,000 tons, up 3.7%, 25.7% and -1.2% over last year respectively.
 
In the first 7 months of 2013, total output hit 1.8998m tons, up 3.6%, including fungicide 99,100 tons and herbicide 1.062m tons. Both fungicide and herbicide saw a 2-digital increase, up 12.4% and 13.6% respectively. The proportion of herbicide was 55.9%, and fungicide was 4.6% while insecticide was 21.7% (413,000 tons), down by 6.7%.
 
In July, pesticide output of Shandong hit 532,100 tons, up 14.3%, and Jiangsu was 440,000 tons, down 4.1%, while Zhejiang was 179,500 tons, up 8.0%. Shandong replaced Jiangsu to be the largest pesticide province in July.
