Protective Cotton Procurement Kicked Off
By CnAgri2013-09-11 11:39:50 Print Since cotton harvest this year, new cotton price stayed below the protective procurement price of RMB20,400/MT most of the time. In light of this, the government decided to kick off protective procurement from September 9 on.Though protective procurement helped little in bringing up farmers’ income, it helps stabilize basic returns from cotton production. It is suggested that the government provide more subsidy to farmers to give them incentives in cotton production.
