Wheaten Food & Rice Food Production up in Sept. 2013

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, China’s instant noodles production was 1.01 million MT in Sept. and 7.621 million MT in Jan. ~ Sept., down 6.35% but up 9.38% respectively on the year-on-year basis.

Fast-frozen wheaten and rice food production was 472.600 MT in Sept. and 3.968 million MT in Jan. ~ Sept., up 25.43% and 20.68% respectively on the year-on-year basis.

BOABC estimates that cookie and cake productions were about 551,000 MT and 202,900 MT respectively in Sept.

Wheaten and rice food production added up to about 2.237 million MT in Sept. and 18.228 million MT in Jan. ~ Sept., up 10.11% and 20.97% respectively on the year-on-year basis.

Wheaten food producers consumed about 1.394 million MT flour in Sept. and 11.184 million MT in Jan. ~ Sept., 4.35% and 15.82% more than the same period of last year respectively.

Wheaten food producers consumed about 12.18% of medium and large flourmills’ production in Sept. and 11.63% of their production in Jan. ~ Sept.

203.600 MT rice was consumed in Sept. and 1.682 million MT in Jan. ~ Sept. for rice food production, up 22.17% and 30.18% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
