Flour Production & Consumption in Oct. 2013
By CnAgri2013-12-12 09:19:44 PrintAccording to National Bureau of Statistics and BOABC monitoring, domestic flour stocks registered 747000 MT in October and monthly slaes rate was 99.87%.
Flour supply: According to the National Bureau of Statistics, flour production by medium and large mills registered 11.613 million MT in Oct. Deducting repetitive statistics, BOABC estimates that flour production was about 6.774 million MT, a drop of 2.5% on the year-on-year basis. Flour production totaled 62.858 million MT in Jan. ~ Oct., a growth of 0.5% on the year-on-year basis. Taking into account of month-end stocks and imports, flour supply was 7.512 million MT in Oct., down 0.09% on the year-on-year basis, influenced by meat consumption increase.
Flour consumption was 6.742 million MT in Oct., including 6.475 million MT for food use, 232,000 MT for feed production and 35,000 MT for industrial uses. Of the flour consumed for food use, 3.043 million MT were consumed by urban households, 1.94 million MT by the catering industry and 1.492 million MT by the food industry.
Flour consumption by rural households, restaurants, the food industry and urban households accounted for 34.22%, 28.68%, 22.05% and 10.76% of the total food-use consumption respectively.
lour wholesale price: it was RMB3,211/MT in Oct. and average price was RMB3,098/MT in Jan. ~ Oct., up 11.49% and 9.61% respectively on the year-on-year basis. Prices for special first grade flour and special second grade flour were RMB3,246/MT and RMB3,070/MT respectively in Oct, up 6.61% and 13.08% YOY respectively. And accumulative average prices were RMB3,177/MT and RMB2953/MT respectively in Jan. ~ Oct., up 6.16% and 11.01% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
In view of terminal consumption, prices for special first grade flour, special second grade flour and small packaged flour were RMB5.31/kg and RMB4.46/kg and RMB5.56/kg respectively in Oct, up 3.62%, 8.77% and 5.65% YOY respectively. And accumulative average prices were RMB5.23/kg, RMB4.40/kg and RMB5.49/kg respectively in Jan. ~ Oct., up 2.12%, 8.92% and 6.07% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
