Brazil: Cane Production to Rise by 12% in 13/14

Cane harvest in Brazil may grow by 12% thanks to the positive weather conditions and expansion of acreage.Till 15th December in 2013/14, the Central South of the country crushed 587.9 million tons canes, up 11.3% year on year. The sugar production during the same period of time rose by 0.1% to 34 million tons, the production of ethanol was 18.6% higher to 25.1 billion liters. The sugar/ethanol production ratio was 45.4/54.5, whereas it had been 49.7/50.3 in same period last year.
