China White Feather Broiler Alliance Established

On Jan. 8th, China White Feathur Broiler Alliance under China Animal and Agriculture Association was established and more than 50 giant poultry breeding enterprises took part in the alliance.

The alliance was a non-profit social group organized by white feather broiler breeding and processing enterprises, downstream large-scaled enterprises and other relevant enterprises and agencies. Its aim is to actively conduct industry research of development strategy, explore domestic and foreign markets to promote its consumption, to standardize industry development, guarantee food security and promote healthy and sustainable development of white feather industry.

The members include Qingdao Jiuliang Group, New Hope Liuhe Co., Ltd., Fujian Shengnong Development Co., Ltd., Beijing Huadu Group Co., Ltd., Chia Tai Group Co., Ltd., Dacheng Food(Asia) Limited, YUM China Division and McDonald’s(China) Limited etc..

Shefeng, general manager of Beijing Huadu Group Co., Ltd., was elected as the first chairman for a term of two years.

BOABC’s Insight: the alliance includes China key players of white feather broiler industry and the industrial chain covers all products from ancestral broiler to terminal chicken products. According to rough estimates of BOABC, the breeding and processing quantities of those members make up of 80% of China white feather broiler market. To cope with the flat situation in recent two years, it has some positive meaning of large enterprises’ unification. Though BOABC is still not optimistic about white feather broiler market in 2014, more market share will belong to above-mentioned enterprises if they can overcome all the difficulties to survive.
