Fiber Board and Plywood Board Futures Ran Stable

Fiber board and plywood board futures price saw decline after increase and generally ran stable since lists. From end of Dec. 2013 to Jan. 2014, the futures was generally declining and the main futures contract of plywood board, BB1405, was stronger than that of fiber board, FB1405. Sun Peng, analyst of Galaxy Futures Company, said:” plywood board futures is stronger than fiber boar is attributable to its higher industry concentration. So manufacturers have more ability of pricing”

Due to great price difference in different regions, great differences were noted between bull and bear funds and benchmark futures price and in general futures price saw great fluctuations. But some regularities can be noted according to the fluctuations in the one month. Plywood board price ranged from RMB117/piece to RMB138/piece, the minimum price was RMB10/piece higher than mainstream price and the maximum price was MB10/piece lower than mainstream price. In short terms, investors can regard a narrower range as the fluctuating range and middle price as the benchmark price.
   
As the major wood materials, timber price has closely relation with the two boards. Timber imports keep increasing and New Zealand exceeds Russia to become the largest timber exporter to China. So attention should be paid to timber production and exports in New Zealand and demand fro m downstream real estate industry
