China Dairy Production In 2013

Domestic dairy processing was largely affected by the shortage of raw milk supply in 2013, especially the production of solid milk was lower year on year. Data from the National Bureau of Statistics indicates the total dairy production stood at 26,980,300 tons in 2013, up 5.15% year on year, of which liquid milk 23,359,700 tons, up 7.01% year on year; solid dairy 3,621,000 tons, down 9.17% year on year. In December, the production of liquid milk was 2,120,000 tons and solid dairy 340,000 tons. The year on year slip of liquid milk was 3.85% and solid dairy down 15.32% year on year.

The production of milk powder stood at 1,458,800 tons during the first eleven months, up 7.09% year on year, of which production in November was 138,000 tons, down 2.27% year on year. The production of milk powder should be 1,531,000 tons in 2013, up 6.8% year on year.
