In the past two years, camellia oil enterprises’ development momentum is also very fast. In 2016, four companies (Jiangxi Younibao, Jiangxi Senyuan Camellia, Zhejiang Jiusheng Camellia, Zhejiang Jiuyuan Forestry) were listed on the new three board; Jinhao, Guitaitai develop rapidly; Dasanxiang, Gaozheng, Chabainian become shovel-ready. Camellia oil industry has entered the fierce competition stage and will help improve the level of camellia oil industry as a whole.

At the end of March, Jinhao’s intelligent plant base construction project held the opening ceremony in Changsha Wangcheng Tongguan Cycle Industrial Park, Hunan. The project covers an area of 140 mu, with a total investment of RMB 800 million. It is planned to build a intelligent, automated production center with production, warehousing, logistics and other functions. It is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2017 and will become Jinhao’s key project and have competitive advantage to help Jinhao go public in the future.

Guitaitai’s camellia seed crushing capacity is 40,000 ton/year and the camellia oil refining capacity is 12,000 ton/year. In 2016, the annual revenue reached RMB 665 million, up 75% year on year; the net profit was RMB 76.96 million, the gross margin was 21%, far higher than the gross margin level 4% of the current vegetable oil processing industry.

Camellia oil enterprises constantly improve the industrial chains. As for the raw materials, the enterprises improve tree species, cultivate seedlings so as to solve the problem of low yield of camellia on the basis of the pattern of “company + base (cooperative) + farmer” and with the help of the R&D institutions. As for the traditional sales mode, the enterprises develop the market in different levels using the Internet and new media to promote sales. While they complete the industrial chains, camellia oil enterprises cooperate with other industries (e.g., leisure agriculture) to achieve profits for the diversified business model.
