By CnAgri2017-04-17 10:10:03 PrintGrain import: import value of grains including cereal, potato and soybean reached 3.02 billion dollars in Feb., increasing 38.9% year on year, and accounted for 35.8% of total import value of agricultural products in the same month; the import volume of grains totally was 8.35 million tons, increasing 29.1% year on year; monthly import price was USD362/MT, decreasing 4.9% month on month and increasing 7.6% year on year(the year-on-year growth continued for 8 successive months), which shows that domestic demand increased.
Analysis of Grain Import by Varieties: the import volume and import value of cereal and its powder was 2.15 million tons and 494 million dollars in Feb , increasing 82.2% and 56.11% year on year; large imports led to the decline in import prices. In the same month, the import price was USD230/MT, the lowest level since Aug., 2010 and the second lowest level since 2008, decreasing 14.32% year on year,
Monthly import volume of soybean was 5.54 million tons, up 22.8% year on year, and maintained higher year-on-year growth for two successive months; import value and import price were 2.401 billion dollars and USD433/MT, increasing 46.6% and 14.2% year on year separately. From Jan. to Feb., the accumulative import volume and average import price respectively were 13.19 million tons and USD434/MT, increasing 29.7% and 13.0% year on year.
The import volume, import value and import price of other grains were 660,000 tons, 130 million dollars and USD195/MT, respectively increasing -15.4%, -14.2% and 1.4%. The import price increased 5.08% from the lowest level in last year. As for dried cassava, import volume and import price were 581,000 tons and USD178/MT, decreasing 19.45% and 18.1% year on year.
Export aspect: total export volume, export value and average export price of grain were 110,000 tons, 110 million dollars and USD997/MT in Feb., respectively increasing 22.22%, 21.72% and -0.41% year on year.
By varieties, the export volumes of cereal and its powder, potato and soybean respectively were 50,000 tons, 20,000 tons and 50,000 tons in Feb., and the unit prices of cereal and its powder, potato and soybean respectively were USD684/MT, 968yuan/ton and USD 1122/MT. In Jan. and Feb., the accumulative export volumes of cereal and its powder, potato and soybean respectively were 110,000 tons, 40,000 tons and 110,000 tons, and the unit prices respectively were USD540/MT, 999yuan/ton and USD 1181/MT.
