Fertilizer Imports in November

China imported 203,000 MT MOP at a price of $428/MT (CIF) in November, down 39.4% and 5.2% respectively from the month before and down 73.7% and 8.5% respectively on the year-on-year basis. MOP imports through border trade were 159,000 MT in November, accounting for 78.7% of the total imports, a larger share than the 50% recorded in the month before. MOP imports totaled 6.113 million MT in January ~ November, parallel to the same period of last year. MOP imports may reach 6.3 million MT by the end of 2012, slightly less than the previous year.SOP imports were 8,100 MT in November and 152,000 MT in January ~ November, down 51.1% but up 18.4% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
NPK imports registered 76,000 MT in November and 1.27 million MT in January ~ November, up 10.9% and 44.4% respectively on the year-on-year basis. NPK import price was $565/MT (CIF) in November, down 12.6% from the month before but up 0.4% on the year-on-year basis. NPK imports may total 1.35 million MT in 2012, the top level since 2007.
