China Bought 250,000 Tons Sugar

    It was learnt Chinese buyers purchased 250,000 tons sugar because of the low international price and the ships shall arrive in January or February.
 
    The international sugar price fell by 23% in the past year, making it attractive to import. The current ICE futures price for raw sugar is around 18.30 US Cents/pound, the lowest level in two and half years. Also the futures price for white sugar in London fell to 492 US dollars/ton, the lowest level since June 2012.
