China Logs Import in 2012
By CnAgri2013-03-11 11:34:54 Print In 2012 China's timber imports saw negative growth for the first time, a decrease of 4,433,100 cubic meters compared with the same period in 2011. Logs imports from all importers declined except from New Zealand, increasing 4.59%. Timbers imported from Russia were 11.183 million cubic meters, a decrease of 20.52% compared with last year, from America, a decrease of 25.51%. However, as production of wood processing industry in Guangdong saw certain growth, such as plywood, pulp, increasing by 23.1% and 18.6%, respectively, Guangdong log imports reached 2.216 cubic meters for the year, an increase of 2.14% over the same period last year with imports increase of 321,700 cubic meters.From “China Wood Market Monthly Report”
