Farm Product Imports & Exports in January
By CnAgri2013-03-12 11:27:08 Print According to the customs, China’s farm product imports and exports valued $10.17 billion and $5.66 billion respectively in January, up 31.6% and 4.6% respectively on the year-on-year basis, accounting for 6.4% of the nation’s total import value and 3% of the nation’s total export value respectively. Farm product foreign trade led to a deficit of $4.51 billion, up 94.4% on the year-on-year basis, attributable to farm product price hike in the international market.The import volume and value of grains, soybeans and tuber crops were 6.5 million MT and $3.61 billion respectively, up 2.8% and 20.3% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
Specifically, the imports of grains, soybeans and other grains registered 1.01 million MT, 4.78 million MT and 710,000 MT respectively, down 11%, up 3.7% and up 22.4% respectively on the year-on-year basis. Their import prices were $380/MT, $632/MT and $291/MT respectively.
