Grain Consumption for Food and Feed in April
By CnAgri2013-05-24 11:07:49 Print Grain consumption for food use was estimated to be 23.473 million MT in April and 90.959million MT in January ~ April, up 8.82% and 9.95% respectively on the year-on-year basis,attributable to inflation and the impact of bird flu on meat consumption. After all, grain wascheaper than many other food products.Of the grains consumed for food use in April, 8.708 million MT were consumed by ruralresidents, 4.263 million MT by urban residents and 10.502 million MT by restaurants.
Grain consumption for feed use was estimated to be 13.129 million MT in April and 50.92 millionMT in January ~ April, up 0.89% and 2.09% respectively on the year-on-year basis. Consideringthe increasing supply of other feed ingredients, grain consumption for feed use is predicted to grow less than 1% this year over last year.
